This cover, wow, I love it so much. I hope everyone will love it as much as I do and when they see it I hope they will want to read the book. The idea for the cover was always there in my head like so many other things; I am thrilled how it came out and how it speaks to the story. I started this story a long time ago and one day while perusing the internet I found this photo and I knew it would be the basis for the cover art for this book. The photo was of a cemetery scene in the woods in winter and it fit my story perfectly. I could see the character walking down the path with the tombstones lining the walkway. From there, this image has been on a journey much like the story and the characters themselves. The image has always been visceral for me, invoking the nature of the struggle and the danger that seems to be pressing in on the characters.
The old adage, Don’t judge a book by its cover, well…ignore that please. I want you to do just that, because if you do you will buy it. Like so many authors I didn’t write this book with visions of selling it and making a lot of money; I wrote it to fulfill a desire to add to the story, to add a piece of me into the literary collective. The challenge is intriguing when you start your first novel, the unknown combines with the creative and there are magical moments tempered by ultimate frustration; oh wait, that comes when you try to get it published. Whatever the case, everything makes it and you better for the day you start the next novel; in my case, the next five novels that I have notes on. The next book in this series is half way done but the cover is in my head already, the idea is there; I will just need a talented artist to breathe life into my next inspiration. The book, the story, the characters, all of that is next, today it is about the cover, and what a great cover I have to call my own. I hope you enjoy gazing at the subtle beauty that is saint Sebastian: The Rose, I hope it makes you wonder and I hope it makes you want to read. Isn’t that the point of a great cover, to grab your attention and make you pick it up and turn to that first page; hopefully not the last page, I am talking to you Amanda.
I know with this Cover Reveal, you will be chomping at the bit to get your hands on a copy and nothing would make me happier but you will have to wait. Expected publication release will be in September, date to be announced. Until then, I hope to keep anyone who will listen, entertained with whatever ramblings that spew forth from my brain. I look forward to the day that I will yell from the rooftops, it’s here…now enter my world and enjoy the read. Thank you.
